Scripture

“Therefore thus says the LORD: ‘If you return, then I will bring you back; You shall stand before Me…’”

— Jeremiah 15:19 (NKJV)

Jeremiah had reached a place of frustration and discouragement. He had been faithful to God, but the weight of what he was experiencing had affected his heart. God’s response was simple: Return to Me, and I will restore you.

Sometimes it is not rebellion that causes us to drift from God. Sometimes it is disappointment. Sometimes it is pain, frustration, or becoming weary while doing what God called us to do. Other times, it can be our own decisions that slowly pull us away.

But God’s response is still the same: Return.

God did not throw Jeremiah away because he struggled. He called him back. And He didn’t just call him back to His presence; He restored him to purpose: “You shall stand before Me.”

Maybe you have allowed disappointment, failure, or the pressures of life to create distance between you and God. Don’t allow that distance to become permanent.

Return to the One who called you. Return to your first love.

God’s mercy is greater than the place you have wandered to. When you return to Him, He can restore your heart, realign your life, and remind you that there is still purpose on the other side of your struggle.

Reflection

What has caused distance between you and God?

Is there an area of your heart that He is calling you to return to Him today?

Prayer

Father, search my heart and show me anything that has created distance between us. I choose to return to You. Restore my heart, renew my strength, and realign me with Your purpose. Help me remain close to You even when life becomes difficult. In Jesus’ name, amen.
