The Place That Sustains You

There is a place where you don't have to be everything for everyone.

A place where you don't have to have every answer, carry every burden, or figure out what comes next.

It is the presence of God.

“Abide in me, and I in you.” — John 15:4

To abide means to remain—to stay connected.

Remaining in God's presence isn't simply about spending time with Him. It is about recognizing that everything you need to become who He has called you to be flows from your connection to Him.

His presence sustains you.

When life requires strength, His presence reminds you that you don't have to manufacture it.

When decisions require wisdom, His presence quiets the noise so you can recognize His direction.

When your heart becomes weary, His presence becomes a place of rest.

When circumstances challenge who you are, His presence reminds you whose you are.

And when you have poured into everyone around you, His presence is where you can be filled again.

There will always be something asking for your attention. Family. Work. Relationships. Responsibilities. Dreams. Even the things God has called you to do.

But none of those things were designed to become the source of your strength.

The presence of God is not another demand on your life. It is the place that sustains your life.

That is why remaining matters.

A branch doesn't struggle to produce fruit by trying harder. Jesus teaches us that fruit comes from remaining connected to the vine. The connection produces what effort alone never could.

The same is true for you.

You don't have to produce peace. Remain connected to the One who gives peace.

You don't have to manufacture strength. Remain connected to the One who strengthens you.

You don't have to force clarity. Remain close enough to recognize His voice.

And you don't have to become everything God has called you to be through your own ability.

Remain.

Because what God desires to produce through you begins with what He is developing within you.

Reflection

What have you noticed God producing in your life as you've remained close to Him?

Where have you experienced His strength, peace, wisdom, or direction in a way you know you could not have produced on your own?

Take a moment today—not simply to ask God for something, but to recognize what His presence has already been providing.

Prayer

Father, thank You for being the source of everything I need. Thank You that I don't have to rely solely on my own strength, wisdom, or ability. Teach me to treasure Your presence and to remain connected to You in every season of my life. Continue producing in me what I could never produce on my own. Let Your presence shape my thoughts, strengthen my heart, guide my decisions, and prepare me for everything You have called me to carry.

In Jesus' name, amen.

If this spoke to you, or if you know a woman who may need this reminder today, share it with her. Sometimes the word God uses to strengthen us is also the word someone else has been waiting to hear.
